Propelled
by the success of Electrical & Automation (E&A) business
of Larsen & Toubro (L&T), with its AC Drives in Indian market,
Yaskawa Electric Corporation of Japan has commence the manufacturing
of drives and servo products in India. The 55,000 square
foot facility, hosts a planned workforce of 100 employees
under the supervision of Japanese technical experts, intended
to produce 40000 units of new generation AC Drives in a
year through four production lines.
L&T and Yaskawa Electric Corporation, global leaders
in manufacturing of AC Drives, conjointly provide motion
control products to infrastructure, critical utilities and
industrial machinery sectors. The success of their strong
association has led to the establishment of a manufacturing
unit for meeting the increased demand and imparting competitive
edge, through faster delivery, Japanese manufacturing expertise
and quality.
Mr. Michihiko Zenke, Head of AC Drive products worldwide
for Yaskawa, handed over the first manufactured in India,
AC Drive unit to Mr. P. K. Bajaj, Vice President, Electrical
Standard Products B.U. and Mr. Vijay K Arora, Head of Control
& Automation B.U. of Electrical & Automation at a function
held on May 23, to mark the commencement of production in
India. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Zenke said, "L&T and
Yaskawa have partnered for 25 glorious years and more to
provide, Drive and Servo based solutions to Indian consumers.
Yaskawa's manufacturing unit in Bangalore will assist L&T's
Electrical & Automation business sustain dominance, in the
growing industrial automation segment in India. Indian consumers
will derive more from the numero uno product, with unmatched
reliability and features suitable for Indian environment.The
Bangalore facility will produce the latest range of powerful
1000 series AC Drives which are designed to meet the current
and future requirement of the Indian industry.
L&T

delivery time. The Bangalore based facility will help deliver
the Yaskawa products at shorter span of time coupled with
