IEC - Instrumentation Expert's Club which comprises of experts from Process & Instrumentation Companies including Consulting, Engineering, Users and Solution providers meet every month to exchange ideas and promote automation technology amongst members.

L&T Control & Automation and its safety PLC technology partner HIMA Paul Hildebrandt GmbH + Co KG, Germany had hosted IEC meet in April'2004 at Mumbai where Mr.Tino Vande Capelle, Director Strategic International Business, HIMA presented a paper on "Improving Process Safety and Economic Performance" covering the latest IEC61508 safety standards for PLCs and how TUV AK5/6 standards are being replaced by SIL3 standards worldwide. This presentation was widely appreciated by all the members.

.In the recent IEC meet held on 29th April, 2005 at Goa, Mr. B R Mehta, Chairman IEC announced the awards for 2004-05 and Tino's paper was selected for the award. Mr Hemant Kumar & Mr Neeraj K Prasad represented L&T Control & Automation at the meet and Hemant received the crystal trophy on behalf of Tino.
